I decided to upgrade my rear speakers to see if it would make a difference. I documented it for others to see.

Speaker screw holes (4) total with clasps. Can be kinda difficult at times to screw into because they can shift.

Finished install of the Momo 5.25 speaker. Notice how well it matches and looks with the decor...very sharp

The tweater is also pitch adjustable

Although the passenger seat is not adjustable and after mutch debate as to whether i should remove it or not, i discovered it can be done without removing anything but the upper seat belt connector cover.

Ok, now the big question..how does it sound. Well I can't say yet because I was at my dads house and when I went to start the car everything went dead. I initially thought ah oh what did I do? It turned out to be the battery connector was not fully tightened properly from the dealer. I tightened it up and everything worked fine. However, as some of you may have surmised I couldnt play the radio as I didnt have the keycard with me and it was required due to the radios power loss  I let you folks know if the back speakers helped any as soon as I get to hear it myself.
Nice! How much do the stock speakers weigh? Or I should ask how much did all the stuff you removed weigh?

thanks!
Ah.. I assume you have the touring option? The sound deadening you cut away is part of that.

Cars without the touring option should not have the foam in this location, just a hollow/empty space.

Bye, Arno.
looks sharp... definitely tell us how it sounds compared to the old speakers

I would estimate about 1-2lbs each for the rears

Thanks Arno. We were beginning to wonder what we were getting for our money with the touring package in terms of heat shielding and sound deadening. Maybe it helps with heat coming from the engine. It's going to be noisy anyway.
speakers

so how did the new momo speakers sound compared with the stock speakers?
same thing? much better?
how much did the pair of speakers cost?
I seemed to have misplaced my card. I tried making another exactly as the book describes using a new MMC card. Any ideas why it won't work. Do you have to format the card a certain way or do you have to use a MMC card from the dealer?
don't you need an amp for those things? What wattage are they rated at?
1FAST

Now you've found your card, how do the speakers sound compared to the stock units ???

I will preface this be saying that I have not read the manual but I would think that if you could make a new card without having the old one what would the point be of having the cards at all.

I would start looking for the card that came with the radio...

Actually Patricko this is not the case. You still have to go through a procedure of entering the security code onto the new card. This is where the security really lies. The factory card anyone can buy, even off the internet. It is entering the passport security code that keeps your radio safe and specific to you, and not the card itself. You do not need the original card because the radio will make one if you know the security code. This could have been accomplished using a standard formatted card and would still given the same level of security.

PS I will write a review tomorrow about the upgrade as I just did a long one and my computer crashed and I lost everything
