My 2006 Elise passenger side door has a problem. The steel bracket that holds the upper part of the rear window track has debonded from the fiberglass door. I have tried two repairs using JB weld and both have failed within weeks of the initial repair.

I think I am going to clamp it up, and drill through from the inside of the door and use a shallow panhead bolt and nut to secure it. I used some gum to see how much clearance I get and I can make it by a hair.

Before I go down this rather extreme path I was wondering if anyone else had seen this problem and had a better fix.

I had this problem in the driver's-side door and repaired it successfully using JB Weld. Here is my post on the repair.

I had not seen your repair write up but it is essentially what I did. I will try it one more time and try to get a better surface on the bracket.
