Need help moving Esprit parts car in SoCal to Phoenix AZ

A few months ago I purchased an Esprit parts car along with some doors and a transaxle in Orange county California and the guy I purchased it from has been very understanding about holding the car until I could pick it up. However now the seller is now moving and cannot hold the car for me any more. Unfortunately between the time I purchased the car and now I have experienced a significant financial problem and now I need to figure out how to move the car to the Phoenix area as cheaply as possible. I have checked with Uhaul and to rent a truck and car dolly to go from southern California to Phoenix AZ is almost $600. What I am wondering is if anyone knows someone in the Orange county or Los Angeles area that would somehow loan me (or rent for a much smaller fee) a truck with a hitch for a day or day and a half so I could move the car?

Ultimately I need to get the car and a bunch of other belongings from Phoenix to NE Ohio so my plan was to purchase a box truck and car dolly to do this but with the sudden occurrence of my problem with finances I have had to put that plan on hold for a month or two.

Any help or suggestions are most welcome.

I would test the waters on uship, I got my esprit delivered from about 450 miles away for around $400....

Plus consider leaning on any buddies that might lend you a trailer....

Trailers are cheap to rent. I don't have a truck. The problem with uship is the extra parts that go with the car. Most car haulers don't want to deal with loose parts like doors and transmission. I am also looking at cheap trucks for sale on craigslist.

+1 for Uship, I have used them twice and saved a bundle. I had a car with extra parts, seller put the parts in an old steel chest and they were happy to haul it.
You can always rent a UHaul capable of pulling a decent trailer, and then rent a trailer. If you are coming to phonenix, check out Trailers in Mesa Arizona | Big Tex | CM Trailers | CM Truck Beds |LOOK - they have flatbeds that are pretty nice to rent.

It's an easy drive. If you want, post on nasaaz.com - my race league's site, lots of guys have trailers and may either be able to help or have other good ideas.

I might be able to get someone to grab it and store it at my dads shop until you can come get it later. He lives in Visalia.
I have some parts I want to buy from Guy in Portland that are too big to ship and I think I have located a cheap pickup truck in Hillsboro Oregon. So my current plan is to fly to Portland, buy the cheap pickup truck, pick up the parts from Guy, drive to Orange county, CA, rent a tow dolly, pickup the Esprit rolling shell plus the extra parts that go with it, and then transport the whole thing to Phoenix AZ. Then I will figure out later how to get all this stuff (along with two storage units of additional stuff) from Phoenix to NE Ohio. I hope this all works out.
