I put a very, very small ding in the lower left valence of the Elise. I have taken the car to a very good body shop and they called today to ask if I wanted the whole front starshield replaced or just a small piece of front left bumper area which would show one small seam coming down from front left turnsignal. I am not sure which way to go, but at the end, they said they wanted to wait 30 days before putting the starshield for the paint to fully cure. They said if they put it on the day after they paint, it will be difficult to remove and may require repainting of the area under the Starshield.

Anyone have any experience with this? I have a track day coming up and absolutely will not drive the car on the track without "protection". Am I asking for trouble down the road by telling them to put the starshield on immediately after they paint?
