Hi, new ad campaign happening. We found an awesome picture for the ad, but in looking at the pricing, to license this ad would cost us over $1000 for each magazine for each issue we run it. We are looking at 6 magazines. So the frugal side of me is looking for an alternative and I know we have some good photogs on here.

Market is pro racing teams, vintage and historic guys. We are building the brand as the world leader in video for motorsports (we are!) and building on our branding as the Rolex of video systems. So the image needs to convey speed but also some elegance. See the attachment which is the pic we wanted to use.

To be even more specific, one reason that photo above works is the car becomes less specific. It almost a generic race car on a generic track. The ad is not about the car or its location. The image evokes perhaps even a different time. So the photo is almost timeless and not about a specific car or place.

I think the processing and the crop on the original pic works much better than the one Michael posted. I'll ask around at some of my photographer friends if they have anything that you might be able to use.

I'd have to go back to DVD archives to see if I've got anything (I've got very few auto images stored on the hard drive of this computer). But here are a quick couple of me fooling around with shots of Bob's car:

I may have something from the FIA GT Championship in China.

I will have a look and see if I have anything that I think would work.

Randy,

I found some bad photos I took a while back:)

I will email them over and you can use them if they work for you.

I took 3,000 pictures that weekend so I have loads of bad ones you can use :D

I took them all in Nikon RAW so you have lots of options.

If you can add the blur via photoshop I have a bunch of photos I took at the Monterey Historics last year.

As a potential customer of a incar camera, I can tell you that all I care about is image quality, and sound quality. There are so many cheap ccd cameras out there. The quality of CCDs is usually VERY BAD.

AKA, I don't want to see a fuzzy/blured image.

Here is an image that got my attention. Look at how crisp this image is!!! If this was a single frame of a video, the video would be amazing.

When I saw your first pic it had a 'timeless' quality to it so I went with that idea. Pic is originally the one posted by rnr.

I did some simple blur on the last one, and only a little bit. Much more and it just looked like a crummy photo. Your original picture was well done and beyond my abilities to mimic.

How about a photo incorporating a car from each of these topics, like an eclectic mix, with an almost Goodwood'esq feel to it. The common thread being the passion for the cars and driving them.
