Need quick answer: Should I flip my Toyo R1R tires?

I have a set of Toyo Proxes R1R tires I bought from Washburn.

They don't have much wear, but they do have the typical feathering from autocross use. Of course I am going to autocross them more, on cool or wet days on asphalt.

Should I mount them opposite the way they were so they feather the other way?

Mounting noonish tomorrow, so please answer now.

If you're talking about flipping the direction of the tread, NO. If you're talking about remounting on opposite side wheel, then I wouldn't see a problem with that. You could also get them shaved.

Yes, I understand that they must rotate the same way or the water-shedding will not work. That part you control when you bolt them to the car.

The lateral force direction will be determined when the tire goes on the rim. I am taking the tires in tomorrow to be put on the rims.

I'd flip them.

Exactly my intention. Just wanted to make sure that there was not some trick to these Pixie Dust tires that demanded they live their lives stressed in the same direction as first used.

We stood them up in the tire shop lobby and got them all the correct locations, then marked "inside" with chalk on the sidewalls.

No time this week to take them to my favorite tire tech across the metro.
