ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!

D***it Lotus!

Why couldn't you get this young woman her yellow mid-engined car (or at least reassure her by giving her an ETA) before she became unhinged?

You want evidence? Here!

I saw that and was SOOOO tempted to bid on it! But in the end, I just couldn't. I don't like the cow-catcher bumpers. I would have preferred a lightweight X1/9 (like yours, MW) or a 1982+ X1/9 with the 1500 cc motor and fuel injection.

Did you seriously buy it, MW? Is this going to replace the Pimpin' Staff Car you've got now? :p

It's for Cyber Wedgie, minus a very straight hood for my project baby :)

Despite the hideous bumpers, it was one very well sorted vehicle. I took it for a spin this afternoon and was rather impressed. It was also a '75, not a '76 as advertized, which means NO SMOG next year :)

And dad was right...couldnt stand the wait any longer. Needed...yellow...car....

Hmmm... time to scout around the wrecking yards to pick-up a set of 1974 bumpers, or a set of 1981+ bumpers. ;)

I have to admit that the wait is killing me! I'm beginning to get weak and started looking in Trader Online to see what the going prices were on 1975-1978 Ferrari 308 GT4s ...

Boy do I know the feeling, I've been close to buying a 944S2 Cab almost three times in the last two months.

Actually, I think 75 is SMOG-free as of 2004, but I could be wrong (I was just reading up on this yesterday -- with the '30 yr' rolling exemption, I would have thought CA was at pre-74 now, but the source I saw suggested differently).

There is, however, a bill being considered now that would stop the 'rolling exemption' at the end of this year (AB 2683/Lieber). It looks to me that it's already passed, but need the Governor's signature. Might think about writing the Governator. I'm doing so now

Thanks for the heads-up and the great idea.

It's likely Robt Kennedy Jr. is doing his best to end ALL exemptions, no matter how small the number of cars affected.

Hence, you may need a large bloc of voters writing the gov to counter the family advisor's influence against your interests.

I wonder if it would help to put the request to withhold his signature in the form of a plea to save endangered species -- in this instance, of automobiles -- for which ruthless and uncaring demands to comply to newly formulated smog restrictions (or even old ones given the lack of replacement parts) amounts to a death warrant for such cars.

Please prevent bureaucrats from reflexively crushing the sole survivors of some once esteemed, and still widely cared for in private hands, automobiles.
