First - I AM NO COMPUTER EXPERT OR MAVEN - following is just my opinion and I could be wrong:
You need to resize your pic in Photoshop or some phot edit program, maybe save as a .jpg or other acceptable extension here - I typically post 800X600 .jpg normally or slightly larger at <500KB - even if the file size is <500 KB, if you post too large an image, say 1600 X 1200 then the photo Nazis will attack you LOL - I screwed up many times when I first started posting here and still do sometimes but these are all such kind, patient, understanding ladies and gentlemen that they will help you across the street
Email your pic to me, I'll resize it and send it right back - but I can't do this for your entire photo album - just a note porn readily accepted and all photos become my property LOL Craig [email protected]
There is a great free program for reducing .jpg file sizes - I use it all the time.
It's called jpeg optimizer from xat.com (no affiliation)
Just open the chosen picture in the program and use a slider bar to choose the amount of reduction.
It shows the images side by side and the relative sizes - so you can choose the balance between file size and quality.
It's different for every picture but generally speaking you'll notice very little difference going from, say 2Mb to 400K.
That doesn't sort out the physical size of the image - I just open a new image to the size I want and copy/paste the picture into that frame.
There's a neat little freeware that I use all the time.
It's called Irfan View and it's a grafic viewer which lets you change the size, colors, change file etc.
Try google it. It's a small but very handy program.
I really am surprised more people don't use the handy gallery that allows a full size image and automatically gives you a proper forum sized image, and a thumbnail image and the code for inserting the image.
