At this point, if it brings in income and doesn't hurt prestige, why not?

The bike is licensed, so I doubt it is taking employees' time away from the important part of running a business - making money.

Can't say I'm over thrilled with the design but its kinda cool they chose to make it resemble a cafe racer.

Has anyone seem updated informtmation regarding specs or the price point? I read an article several months ago article which claimed that Lotus was shooting for 200 BHP. That's an awful lot for a bike. My Kawasaki ZX-10R only makes about 165 and that's plently enough to scare the crap out of me.

There were rumors for a while. I would pick one up just for the collectability factor. I wonder how much?
I thought the same thing and hope they will be in the $30k range - expensive enough to prohibit great demand but still within my means. But I have heard they will be in excess of $100k

The issue is you can get a BMW S1000RR for a fraction of the price, and it has the same performance and is probably more reliable.

And has far better aftermarket support.

Since it's "Lotus", it's probably safe to say that it will be using some underpowered, long discontinued engine that was designed 2 decades ago.

Also, I predict possibly the production of a non-running show display, but nothing more.

not in production...
nothing to do with Lotus (which btw tried to kill the name usage, but the owner of that license seems to got a pretty tight license contract from 'he who shall not be named") = Lotus gets no money from if and when these are ever built

(Personal) knowledge and history suggest 99% of these will end up in a museum, someones 'living room' or a personal collection garage. No one will track these. And they aren't going to show up in the garden variety cruise night....and certainly not Sturgis or Daytona. Maybe the occasional concours or high end gathering (for which they are likely trailer-ed to)...but absolutely for SHOW, not for GO.

People spend 10..100 times that (100k) on 'art'---why shouldn't it look like a motorcycle?
