Hi All,

I've been following this forum for a while as a Lotus fan. For years I have been a huge lotus fan, with the Exige always being a dream car of mine. I have finally decided is is time to become a part of Lotus Talk as I have finally purchased my dream car, a 2009 Exige S260 Sport in chrome orange. I just took delivery this week, and since I live in New England, I can not wait for spring to get here this year.

I look forward to joining in on some of the discussions.

Welcome!! Beautiful car! Is this the one that was Lotus Western NY? I’ve been eyeing it for a week or so now. Glad it went to a good home!

Yes, this was the one from Western NY. It was exactly what I was looking for. As soon as I saw it for sale, I was all over it.

Welcome to LT. Congratulations!
Another Lotus in New England is always a good thing😄
Saturday morning -12 degrees. Today 48 degrees. Wanted to take the car out so badly, but salt EVERYWHERE……….
Are you planning on getting it on the track or just around town?

Welcome! Beautiful car. I used to live in RI (lived EG, worked Johnston), but am now in Upper Valley of NH. Not sure where the roads are worse, but I know which has the longer winters!

Thanks everyone for the kind welcomes. I do plan on getting to the track. The only track time that I have ever done was at Thompson where they let you take a Corvette out with an instructor, so I have a lot to learn.

I'll try to get some more pictures of the car up tomorrow. I'm an accountant so this time of year is a little crazy for me.

Call it lack of driver skill but Thompson is terrifying for a Lotus. All those winding walls 😟

If you feel that way about Thompson, then you won’t want to be at NewHampshire Motor Speedway or even Palmer.

It seems that the NorthEast tracks tend to have less runoff and more immovable objects to hit than other parts of the country.

You know what, I was thinking about Palmer and not Thompson! Pandemic ruined my memory.

You’re right though. Watkins Glen? My favorite track (that I’ve physically been to). Don’t dare make a mistake there.

NJMP is pretty safe except for turns 1-3.

I would poo my pants at VIR.

Congrats!!
I am 99.9% sure that S260 is one that was for sale here 5 months ago. I was lucky enough to go look and test drive it. A STUNNING car that effectively was both of my Lotus rolled into one! (An 05 Elise in Chrome orange and S240 in Persian Blue with small mods)
My lust brain SO wanted that car, and I made a near offer, but my logical side would not go to the asking price as I "almost" already had one!! lol (Or so my logical side reasoned) Just seeing that Carbon fiber Mohawk top from INSIDE was to die for!! NO DROOPING liner.. EVER! The feel was close to my S240, but everything else was just a bit "cooler"!
I am very sure you will enjoy it immensely and it's a rare gem!

Pic on day I saw it.

I am pretty sure this is the car. It was from CA before Lotus of WNY got it. I'm going to have to force myself to not put too many miles on it though.

ACTUALLY, IIRC that car is over the 50K mile mark and was the sticking point on price as it didn't really qualify as a "lo-mileage" example, but was at a lo-mileage price... IMO. if it was @35K, I would have likely bought it. I only say this as my 05 Elise is at 13K, and 08 S240 at 21K. In reality, it was fairly priced here.
IMO, your mileage is kinda the sweet spot, not low enough to be paranoid if you want drive it more, and not so high that it is considered "tired" or near to it.
I say ENJOY IT!!

yep, according to the listing as Lotus WNY, it is 51K>50K miles.
