Hi everyone!

There is not a 2005 Lotus Elise on the roads of Northern NJ

I was wondering if there is anyone on here around the Morris County area? The reason I am asking is because I would like to see another owners car to compare a few things and see what is the correct way for certain items to be situated.

It seems the PO of this car did not take all that great care of it and I'd like to make suer everything is correct.

Second, I do all of the work on the car myself. I have just finished all of the items for a 45k+ service, but have some questions regarding the CAM issue. I was hoping someone who is close to me, or close enough driving range that I could go to, would be able to look it over with a second pair of eyes.

If not, what are the clubs/events that are popular for Lotus in the NJ/PA/NY area?

Sam,

I realized after the whiskey cafe show that the new parts that sports and specialists installed (BOE oil pan, Oil temp guage, oil filter with oil change) were slightly leaking oil... I called them and they said to bring it in.. While in route to them the BOE surge tank they also installed blew a line and crippled my car. I paid them $2,300 to put all these parts on (3/11/2014) and now It's been 7 days with no answers...

up until today the only thing they will say is that Their head mechanic (ian) is out and they have no idea when he is coming back. Now today they are blaming the BOE parts and saying the hoses failed because they are not "fuel injection compatible". WTF. oh and the fuel spray ruined the paint on my catch cans and they now have to be replaced.... Ill never let them touch my car again after this!

Steve, are you closer to the northern end of morris county?

If so, there is a great windy drive that I have mapped out that is a blast to drive (about an hour and a half drive total)

Thanks for all the great responses! Sorry to hear about the Lotus issues. I have actually been trying to get in touch with Ian at that shop to ask about the Cam issue. I think he has a semi-serious medical issue as he has been out alot lately. Anyway, I am more of a do it myself to ensure it is right kind of person, for exactly the reason you posted above.

I do just about all the work myself, but the Cam is one thing that I would like for someone else to look at besides myself.

Ian are you ever on Talmadge Road in Edison. I saw an orange Lotus but wasn't able to catch any other details and saw your profile pic.

Also met a guy near Metropark in Edison with a Red 05 Elise.

I highly recommend going to a LOG. This year in Asheville, NC.

We "caravan" down and will likely hit Tail of the Dragon and other roads.

I often take a ride thru twisty roads from here to Oldwick General Store, so we could try that.
