greetings members,
Car: 1987 Esprit
I am chasing down some electrical gremlins. I replaced the points with the Pertronix electrical ignition from JAE, Question: do i need the ignition amplifier? :scratchhead:

any other relevant info?

The distributor (Lucas 45D) has only one clip for the distributor cap. is this normal? or does it lock into place once installed?

I put in new plugs, wires, coil, distributor cap and rotor, battery

Also, where is the rev limiter?

thanks in advance!

Update: found the lost distributor cap clip on the engine block. Lesson: be extra careful when removing things in a tight environment; it's easy to break off loose or dangling parts.
JAE has said not to connect the amplifier with the pertronix installed. Any additional advice or information in this area?
the car does start now, working on the clutch system. I purchased a new clutch slave cylinder from JAE, but it doesn't fit well. it's a 7/8 (County AS-08) and i have the braided steel clutch line (also from JAE) already installed. My old clutch slave number is a Lockheed 99364. 0394 AP JAe says there should be an adapter somewhere in there; I'll be checking...
Where is the rev limiter?
thanks,
tomas
