I'd go with the 245/40/17's same diameter as 225/45/17's. The back wear out almost 3X's faster for me than the front. I'm not going to go 3 set on the back w/o changing the front this time. The front one's are getting a bit old after two sets of rears.
i'm currently running 235/40/17 toyo r1r's on my elise, the speedo is off by a couple MPH, but other than that, no issues, i just ordered another pair for the rear yeterday
I like your left rear clam sticker, those tires do fill out the wheel well a bit more. Like JWA stated let us know if they rub under high cornering loads.
