North Texas Elise Club

I know it may seem early but I am interested in putting together a club for Elise owners in North Texas (Dallas/Fort Worth and surrounding areas). I looked into the Texas Lotus Club and it sounds like they have been inactive for some time now.

Having run the North Texas S2000 Owners Club for three years I have a real appreciation for what we can do. Dinner get-togethers, autocrosses, track days, afternoon/weekend drives, tech days, etc are all great events. If you'd be interested in taking part in a club, or more importantly helping me get it started, let me know.

With Elise's coming in in the next few months I'd like to start organizing soon. A good starting point would be to put together a club flyer for Overseas Motos to place in each car.

What does everyone think?

Feffman - Thanks for the reply. I will give Marco a shout and see what the plans are for the upcoming Elise "crowd".

Clovis count me in. Youve done a good job with the s2k club. Gerry
North Texas

I would be interested - especially for Track Days and Driver training events.

#9 at Overseas Motors - Mag Blue/Biscuit Interior

I am also interested to find out what colors people ordered in the Dallas area.
I would be interested. I have not decided if I will autox on a regular basis. I did take my Z06 to Texas Motorsports Ranch once when I had it. It was a blast!

We are number 8 at Overseas Motors.

Hi Guys,

I would be interested in joining a DFW-area Elise club. I am a PCA member and race with the Porsche Club in time trial and DE events at Mineral WElls and Motorsport Ranch.

I am #25 at Overseas Motors. I ordered an Ardent Red with LSS and hardtop.

I'm interested. I won't get my Elise for a while though. I'm #46 at Overseas Motors.

I live in Shreveport, La and would love to see MB before ordering. I'm # 38 at Gonzaba. Is there anyway i might could see your car once you get it?
Wow, looks like we already have a nice group forming. If anyone knows of other DFW folks on the list, please direct them here.

I am in contact with the guys at Lotus Club Ltd. and we are talking about the direction of the club. It sounds like they are meeting once a month and would like the Elise to join in. I am leaning in that direction for a few reasons. First, it is an established club. Second, several Lotus models will be included. Third, and probably most important, we will be able to get event insurance coverage through Lotus Club Ltd. for our events (drives, autocrosses, rally). In my experience with the S2000 club, this has the potential to be a financial burden for a small club.

As a start, let's plan on our first meetings being monthly at the Londoner in Addison, 7pm on the 3rd Tuesday of every month.

BTW, I ordered Ardent Red, LSS, LSD (when available).

That would be no problem - I really wanted the Laser Blue myself but that option became available after I placed my order and I was not allowed to change it......

I will add a post when I get it - Overseas Motors said "sometime" in June.

Cheers,
Stephen

Is anyone here getting Laser Blue? I ordered it but I'm #46 so I have time to change it if I wish. I'd like to see it in person but it looks pretty good in the pictures. Also, I live in East Texas so I probably won't make weekday meetings. Weekends would be best.

Have you seen the MB in person? Why would you prefer the laser over the magnetic? Anyway, thanks for offering to let me see yours before i order, i'm sure it will look awesome! Aaron
Magnetic v's Laser

I saw laser blue in London - it just really stood out. Looked great in sunlight......not that it was too sunny there :)

I have not seen the Magnetic Blue in person - but I had to make a decision so that was it. I have to say the black wheels look fantastic and its a shame they dont have them here - however I think they look better with lighter colors like laser blue and yellow so I am not too bothered about it.

Hopefully only six weeks to go!

Cheers
Stephen
Count me in! #23 at Overseas- CO, touring, sport, hardtop.
I'll join when I get my car, but my wait is way too far away.

2006 maybe?
Add me to the list

I should be getting mine in the next 4-6 weeks from a dealer no where near Texas. Patience is not one of my virtues :) It is a loaded Saffrom Yellow car. Needless to say I cannot wait.

My last five cars have been Porsches and I am a member at Motorsport Ranch so please let me know if I can help in any way.

Someone else will need to step up and organize this club. I have decided to step out of the Elise and stay with my S2000. Someday I may consider the Elise again once all of the issues are ironed out.

By the time Overseas finally reaches your order number, the 2008 Elise should be quite solid. Why step out of line now?
One can never be in too many car clubs ... so count me in!

Expect delivery of NFB in March. Interested in DE's at Motorsport Ranch as well.

Cheers!
