Saw this quote on L4P and just had to repost it:

Not putting miles on your (super)car is like having the hottest girlfriend, but not banging her very often because you want her to be tighter for her next boyfriend.

Well my Elise looks really slutty. Well broken in, bare assed, a rough ride but fully racey. Everyone wants a ride.

I always welcome everyone to ride my Elise hard and put her away wet. When you trade something in used, make sure its REALLY used!

I can understand keeping low miles on a super car. For example, if someone buys say a Murci or 458 and REALLY stretches their budget, keeping the mileage low helps maintain resale value, so I can get that.

It's when people stretch the definition of 'supercar'. For example, trying to mitigate mileage on an Elise! :)

I don't get that at all.

If you can't afford the car, don't buy it. If you aren't going to drive it, buy gold coins or something. At least you won't have to take up so much garage space with it. A couple hundred $k in gold coins can be stuffed in a drawer pretty easily. A F458.....not so much.

I disagree! Those cars do not hold their values! Only the crazy hyper cars (aka Enzo, McLaren F1, Etc.) will hold their values and increase...
