On April 11 and 12 (Saturday and Sunday), the Lotus Enthusiast's Organization (NJ/NYC Area) will have a club display of LOTUS cars on the North Side of the 11th Ave Concourse of the Javits Convention Center.

Last year, LEO's NY Auto Show Display was well received by all the showgoers. So we are presenting Lotus models of many years on TWO days this year!

We are on the opposite side of the entrance tunnel as last year. Come by and say HI if you will be attending the show!

We have room for a couple extra cars on each day, so if you are interested in providing yours (in exchange for free NYIAS admittance to the Javits that day) let our LEO event coordinator, Dom Giangrasso, know. Show cars must be on the grounds from 8:30 AM to 10:30 PM, rain or shine, and William Thomas Roadsters and Sports and Specialists Cars (aka Princeton Lotus) are graciously providing free refreshments for folks "working the booth". The public will not be permitted into our roped-off display area.

Dom's email is dglotusltd at optonline.net

Also, don't miss the Tribute to Paul Newman on the 4th floor. One Club Member has provided his Elan for that display, which honors Paul's commitment to motorsports and charities over the years of his life.

See you there!

I was actually looking into driving down from boston, the most important thing to me though is whether there will be an evora present. Also if there was room left and you wanted my car, how would i go about detailing it after i drove it down?

If Lotus USA chooses to display an Evora, we won't be able to post that until Wednesday evening. It would be in the Manhattan Motors stand in the Atrium, with the other luxury and exotic cars that MM sells.

As for detailing...in the past some of the national detailing supply firms have donated supplies...but not this year (due to the economy, we are told). :( So whatever you can put into the boot is what you can use...that's it.

i was not really looking for freebies more a place to actually detail it. Not knowing the area I have no clue if there are self serve places around there or if there is a place on the grounds. I would imagine the vast majority of cars are shipped there so its probably not an issue for many people. Just do';t want to put a dirty car on display.

Most of us "knock the dust off" with a California Duster then a quick detailer, after positioning the cars for the display.

The cars have to be there 'way before the crowds start coming in (no vehicle movement permitted when pedestrians are about!) so there is time to do a little cleaning.

BTW here are pictures of last year:

So is anyone really interested ???????

Only one person in the great expanse is interested......

Come on folks.

Email me at [email protected] if you want to show your car off to the greater Ny masses on this Saturday or Sunday.

If you are interested email for details and you get 2 free passes to the show per car.

We could use a few Elise or Exige models...

Press Day at the Auto Show was a disappointment. For the first time in my memory, there WASN'T A Lotus in the Atrium...No Evora, No Elise, no Exige...nuthin'.

The closest thing to a Lotus inside was the Dodge EV (the Electric Euro Europa).

In true Lotus and Chrysler fashion, there were some decoration missing on one side. rotfl

One interesting thing was that the first car debuted at the Chrysler Press Conference yesterday...was a Fiat 500. -eek-
