Hi guys,

I have an 05 (37k miles) and started doing track days so I added an AIM Solo device to monitor my progress.

For some reason when I connect the Solo into the OBD port it gets the signal form the car but my entire cluster goes dead. The speedometer and tach needles just stay at 0 and the gas gauge shows empty.

I searched the threads and found some mentions of the 05 having some soldering issues but I find it odd that it's only when I connect something to the OBD that the cluster goes wonky.

Anyone encountered this? I haven't taken anything apart yet to troubleshoot and I will mess around with it some more on Thursday as I have another track day.

I had the same trouble with a different device. See this thread for some info.

I didn't want to modify the original hardware, so I ended up buying a cheap obd-ii extension cable. I cut pins 6 and 14 on the extension and it stopped the cluster resets.

Hope this helps.
