Yes, hold down the odometer reset button (near the key on the steering column shroud) and the brightness will change. Hold it down until it is at the brightness you want.

Has anyone had a problem with the odometer display fadeing or not being bright enough to read
I've been having this issue lately. It seems to get worse the colder the weather is. Some days it blanks out completely. It looks like cold solder joints in the cluster. I plan on opening the cluster up and having a look soon. BTW, I'm not sure what year your car is, but mine is a "black dash" with the red LCD display. The rest of the cluster (needles, idiot lights) works fine, it's just the odometer/fuel/TPMS display.
