Can Someone please point me to a link to purchase Lotus Elise OEM brake pads, I've been looking all afternoon and can only find info on aftermarket pads, what are the actual straight up OEM pads to buy for an exact replacement? Feel free to delete this thread if there is another answer that I can't find elsewhere on the site. :crazyeyes

I have the R4S pads and they are great. No complaints. Also, paid a lot less compared to OEM.

The OEM pads really aren't very good... read a few more threads before you lay down the money. Mostly they don't have the stopping power they should. Though you may not want maximum stopping power either since it's likely to be dusyt and noisy (like mine!)

Did you update your rotors, or did you put them on with the stock rotors. Can the stock rotors even be machined?

Yes, I did update my rotors. Aftermarket rotors too. I don't believe stock rotors can be machined even for a performance car like Ferrari, Lotus, Porsche, etc... Someone correct me if i am wrong.

I was leaning towards R4S but the current breaks are OEM and they are just fine I was just trying to keep the status quo. If I go for the r4S are you saying I need to buy specific rotors to go with the brakes? I was under the impression all I need to change out was the pads (yes I'm a newbie)

I'd be surprised if the current disks aren't at or close to minimum thickness (24mm) if you've worn out a set of pads on them. As everyone has said the OEM pads (and disks) aren't as good as aftermarket ones and are very expensive.

I don’t think you need specific rotors for specific brake pads (yes some pads will cause more wear on rotors than others so do consider that), but when replacing pads you need to inspect the rotors. Make sure they are still thick enough, not gouged, not warped and not whatever else would require rotors to be replaced. I’d also suggest inspecting the calipers while you are in there too.

Ok so I decided on the R4S pads, and I'm just gonna go ahead and get new rotors as well and have a fresh start...

Only thing is I only see as options really the DBA4000's/5000's and I only need 4000 since I don't track the car however I don't know if i should get Slotted and drilled or just slotted!? Or if there is a better option I haven't been able to find yet.... Learning new things is frustrating sometimes

OEM pads are made of psonge cake. You can't get them wet. For me EBC yellow. I tell it to stop, it stops.

I stock oem pads and rotors as well as DBA rotors(1/2 the price of oem) and aftermarket pads... CL, Porterfield, etc. We are also a Sector 111 dealer and i can get you anything you need at a great price.
