hi , im new to this forum so, forgive me if this have been re-posted again.
i have a 1990 Lotus Esprit SE and im planning to replace my old oil pick up pipe.

my issue is : do i have to un-tight all the main bearing block nuts or just the one that is holding the pick up pipe?

thank you

I'd say just the one, provided you torque it back to the same spec on replacement. Some of the oil pick up screens are glued together and come apart, you might want to safety wire, screw or weld the top and bottom together for the next life.

Here's what it looks like when the screen is secured with safety wire.

The upper end of the pipe is secured by an 'olive' under the auxiliary (oil pump) housing.
