Dave,Wayne - Prior to Ohio eliminating E-check in my southern Ohio county a couple years ago, I tried to get my car listed as collector but no go...the terminology from here:
Due to a administrative ruling, vehicle models not listed in the above publications may be considered collector vehicles if the applicant obtains documentation from the manufacturer that the vehicle was in limited production, is in demand as a collectible vehicle at the time of application or a sizable investment can be proven.
Do you have a collector plate on now and if so, what docs did you give them from Lotus? Would love to have these on my car to avoid any future hassles.
It is slightly different in Ohio.I was under the impression that "Collector" plates limited the times you could drive the vehicle. Kalifornia only designates "Historical Vehicles" which carry this limitation:

I've got a collector plate on mine.
No issues. I filled out the standard Collector form.

+1 here in FloridaHow are the winters in Ohio? In California, it sometimes rains during the winter. Sometimes, it even gets too cold to go to the beach. And people in Southern California can go to the Rose Bowl whenever they want.

There's so many moving here after being scared by Floria hurricanes that they've started calling them "half-backs." - moving halfway back to Ohio.
Btw, we don't have any type of vehicle inspections at all.
Hmm, this is interesting, any other advantages to having a collector plate other than emissions? No testing in Butler county.
