Anyone replace their rear engine mount only with the BOE one? What has been your experience? Are you experiencing too much vibration?
+1I have the 75A rear only from BOE, and it's only mildly annoying at idle with AC on if you pay attention to it.
The first 1000 miles were bad with vibration starting around 800rpm to 2600 rpm, where it would resonate the aluminum chassis to the point where it's as louder than stock exhaust.
Car shifts nicer and drives better, though.
I installed mine today. Everything I read about in the forums happened. Throttle response and shifting is markedly improved. The care has much more noise and vibration than before. Before it had none. Above 4000 RPM it is fine. At around 2600 RPM it sets up a resonance in the chassis. There is a vibration at idle. I am hoping these things will improve with time.
I am assuming it cracked because of the additional engine rocking. Why did the duct crack, is it hitting something? I've not had either side of the IC duct hit anything under any bushing condition
Not sure that has anything to do with the mount(s). I've had front and rear hardened mounts for 8 years now with no ill effects.I am assuming it cracked because of the additional engine rocking.
To be honest, it happened after a pretty hard canyon run. I was really hard on the throttle and braking... when I got home I noticed an addition rattle at idle.
Kind of hard to tell from the picture, but it cracked where is goes into the slot.

That makes more sense.Hi San,
Oh, I am not blaming the harder mounts, I am blaming the soft stock mounts for cracking the duct. The rubber boot had also slipped off... the engine must have really been rocking about.
I just reinstalled the rear inserts and went for a night time canyon run. The rattle from the cracked duct is mostly gone now, I just need to repair the crack. I also realized that age is affecting my night vision.... my lights suck!, or my bwm lights are just that good. Another thing I need to upgrade. Gah.
I'm glad I put the inserts back in. I was getting paranoid about this or that cracking, especially my Arqray Ti exhaust. They've been known to crack because of the engine rocking.
