Sorry if this is a stupid question or have asked before. I don't know much about the Extige hence I'm here try to learn more.
What is the option for the S240 with the black accents? I see the pictures here most of the cars have the side vents black and front/rear spoilers are black as well. Yet, the online configurator and the dealership have all their cars with the body-color...
2nd, how hard is it to take off the top of the 240, I know it's not recommended but once in a while I would like to drive with the top off... I know, the Elise is meant for that but I like the look and performance of the 240 better.
Thanks.

Oh, one more question, what kind of a deal should I be expecting? If most automakers are losing % sales, I can't imagine Lotus is doing any better... so, 10K off MSRP? 7K? 5K? I plan to place an order in August, should I mind as well, get the 2010? Or, try to get a really good deal of a 2009? If 2009, I should expect how much off? Sorry, there are more than just one quick question. Thanks.

The 2006 Exige had black vent covers, wing and spoiler. In 2007 the ExigeS began with the body colored bits.

The Exige and Elise tops are removed in the same manner. Many drive their Exige with the top off without problem.

A deal on a Lotus you want to order? I doubt any dealer would do that. They might save you enough to take the Lotus driving school, a couple hundred $$$. I can't imagine them taking thousands off a car unless it was one sitting on their lot.

I looked at the Exige roof and know someone who drives around with his off. You can certainly do it. Not sure I would track the car that way, since the roof seems to scoop more air into the supercharge intake? But it is basically four bolts, some covers, etc. I take the roof off my Elise by myself, which Lotus doesn't recommend. But it is light, and fairly easy to do.

The roof directs air to the intercooler only. Doesn't go into the intake at all.

I use to sell cars, buying off the lot will definitely get you more of a discount. I believe that if it's on the lot, you should be able to grind them for more than 4k or a lot more. If you order it, dealers should at least give you 1-2k off. That's a fair price.
