Thank you for mirroring my thoughts. Nothing else drives like a Lotus............unless you pour out $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ or its a race car. It’s not as important has having a well balance/handling sport car. But it’s nice to drive an exotic that is hand built, not just another common sport car on the road. I like to see other people turn their head to admire my car and take pictures. You will have a better understanding once you owned a Lotus. All the other cars, doesn’t give you this special feeling unless it’s over 200K.
Make that relatively BULLET PROOF Toyota with a creaky ass diesel gear boxHonestly the AMG should be the higher end option if it has more potential without heavy modification like the V6 requires. Most likely the V6 will be phased out and/or surpassed by the AMG at some point in performance. To under tune the AMG to be less than the V6 makes little sense to me. The AMG seems to have more out-of-the-box potential and its the more "prestigious" brand name. Just kind of mind boggling that people will possibly have have to pay significantly more for old tech Toyota V6 with a creaky ass diesel gear box over a DCT new tech AMG I4 that was purposely detuned.
Semi incorrect. In 2010 Lotus built a bunch of loaded LE cars that all had an MSRP of ~$84515. You were always able to order a stripper for ~$70K in 2010 as they were all NA cars. But that was my point....Lotus did this previously. The said it themselves and published that the Evora was going to start around $70k. The ones that were being built and shipped to US dealers at first were not at that price point.
Either way....its all speculation and fun banter until we get the news. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.![]()
Esp if the 4 bangers start at 360HP, and job 2 415-430 HP 2 yrs later......or the final edition V6 rings in at 430-450 HP.......430 has already been done......Ha so true on your last comment brg! I think we are both pretty much saying the same thing in regards to the S1. I noted the price drop of the 10's in 2011 in my previous post. The release of the S in 2011 didn't help the older NA's sitting on the lot either. Yes you are right...the cars I saw were launch editions but I wasn't going to pay the 85+ sticker for it. Lotus of Bellevue had a few cars on release test drove....loved it but wasn't digging the price. I do believe you could have configured one for the base price but doubt you would have gotten it in 2010. I mean Lotus made what, less than 1000 (if even that) globally in 2010. I like you got a great deal on my Evora due to playing the waiting game as well.
I just have a feeling we are going to see a bunch of the more expensive LE Emiras at first then may eventually taper down to the price range Lotus shared.
I have heard the base suspension is pretty pathetic unless you troll along on highwaysTechnically 60.9k + dest..I kid. Yeah, who can stop themselves from adding on those tons of options and bumping the $60.9k price (+25k). Honestly think you would have had a better spread if you were flipping if you did avoid the extra options. I think many are conflating the pricing of "ordering a car" vs. "buying a car new at a stealership". At least for C8s, one option you could have got you MSRP and other option could have got you MSRP++.
