It's my understanding that the LSS will likely come with the sixteen spoke OZ wheels from the Elise sport 135.

IMO those wheels look horrible. Of course this is subjective, but I would much prefer the eight spokes that come on the 111S or even the six spoke that come on the standard Elise.

The problem is the OZ wheels will have a wider front set, which I really want.

So the question is which style (not size) do the rest of you prefer?

The link below will take you to the tread that has the wheels posted:

If I got the LSS and they came with 16 spoke, I hope it is in black. Silver looks too much like wagon wheels, imo. Whatever, I'll take whatever the LSS gives and be happy.

Those 16 spoke look so stupid to me. Like bicycle wheels. I like the 8 spoke myself. There's no way they'd put those ugly 16 spoke ones on the Elise, is there? :(

I think they did on the Elise Sport 135. Black would help hide the design.

I knew that, perhaps I should have said, "Our Elise, the Federal Elise". Don't bring those wheels over here man! They can keep them.

Oh, I may be the minority, but I hate black wheels. I want silver. :)

Those 16 spoke wheels aren't very attractive, bordering on ugly. Of these three choices, I like the 6 spoke ones best. But none of them are very nice looking wheels.

I will probably still get the LSS, no matter what wheels are included. It's performance that counts, looks are secondary. But it would certainly be great to get good looking wheels...

I'll take the 8 spokers, preferably in gunmetal - though I do like the more sinister black finish.

My favs are the wheels that came on the 340R. I believe those beauties were Technomagnesios.

I wish Lotus would offer a 5 or 7 spoke wheel in a simple, clean design, maybe like these Breytons:

or maybe the 7-spoke wheels from the G35:

No unnecessary bolt holes, no obnoxious rice/tuner details, and definitely no chrome!

I'm not excited about any of the current wheels; I'd rather have the 5-spoke wheels from the original Elise. Ultimately, I'd go for the 8-spoke wheels. Apparently they're relatively light weight--13 pounds lighter total than the 6-spoke wheels according to Top Gear.

I really liked the original 5 spoke S1 wheels. Not the right size though, I do prefer the 8 spoke wheels and detest the 16 spoke, can't hardly believe that OZ made such an ugly wheel and that Lotus would actually use them.

I too, am not a fan of black wheels (had them on a set of coockie cutter wheels on an old 944, not cool) and the 16 spoke wheel. As to getting them black to hide the design...too boot, why hope for a black wheel to hide the design?

I like the 6 spoke, but would like to see the spokes be narrower, like on the 8 spoke. This allows more of the rotor to be seen. I've seen the eight spoke on a demo car and they look OK, but they look they thety might be harder to clean. Also in theory, less spokes equals less weight.

The black ones are ugly and look too much like the spare rims that snow tires are put on . I think people in Europe like the black rims but I dont think that it will catch on in the USA, except maybe on Yellow or Chrome Orange, but then it starts to look too much like a pumpkinmobile for me.

I suppose the final design of the Fed LSS version wheels has yet to be revealed? Hope it will be different than the 16 spoke ones.

Those 16 spokes are too busy IMO. I like the 8 spoke design. And depending on the body color, I could go for black.

I wonder how much money the superturismos could fetch if sold to a non-LSS Elise owner. Might be able to get something really sweet in the aftermarket without adding too much of your own money. OZ superleggeras are nice looking. SSR Comps would rock for light weight, but damn they're expen$ive. SSR comps aren't really pretty, but they have an "I mean business" look that I really like. And they do mean business.

Clyde stated on Saturday that he hasn't seen the wheels for the LSS yet, so they may be different from the Euro ones...

Whi8ch ones are lightest :)
Hi!

About weights: (I try it in US measurements:D )

6 spoked version: 81,65 lbs (37,04kg)
8 spoked version: 72,22 lbs (32,76kg)
LSS 16 spoked vers.: 69,09 lbs (31,34kg)

About the LSS wheel weight is every time some mysterious thing, but i'am on the searching this weights, because i hear, that these weights are not correct.
(The weights are for 2 front and 2 rear rims)
I also search for lighter rims, i find some Superleggera's but the original setup has a stupid ET of 18mm, so it is not so easy!

Cheers: Charles
