Positives of not getting your Elise early?

I am trying to think of positives of not being one of the first people who are ordering the car 'blind'. The main one I can think of is that we will most likely be able to see all the colors before placing our order. Any other positives?

So Lotus can use some of the early production cars to debug the production line.
If your not too early, you could go over to the dealer and drive the demo car. You'd also get alot more feedback from owners about the packages, handling etc. Your not too likely to see one on the road to remind you of what your missing... you'd have to come to Elisetalk for that. :p
More options that will be available in the future, like sports exhaust. You could order your Elise with everything at once. Plus, you willl have more time to save up.
For the extremely hardcore track junkie, the possibility of ordering the 'lightweight' option, should it appear, which might be more than ac delete, etc., but new seats, etc. Per Clyde at the Auto Show.

The sports exhaust is available for early adopter.
My dealer tried this "positive spin" on the situation as well (I'm #40).

I called him for the first time since putting the deposit down and he was trying to tell me I'd "get to see all the colors and options coming in so I could get a great idea of the features I want when its time for me to place the order".

I wanted to tell him the feature I wanted was to be on the first shipment, but I'll be nice for now :p

He did offer to call ALL people on the wait list once the first demo car arrived at the dealer. Nice offer considering we're "already customers" and he doesn't NEED to sell past the close...

That's an easy one...you get to hold onto your license that much longer:D
Let's see:

Don't have to pay for gas,
don't have to pay for insurance,
Don't have to find good roads to drive on,
Won't need to have the oil changed,
Don't have to wipe that annoying ear-to-ear grin off your face after each drive,
and Don't have to come up with excuses of why you need to go for a drive!

That's alright tho, I'll suffer, Chris #2
Derek - You beat me to that answer - you betcha!

Let's see, more time with out this car means longer time before the people who work for me think I'm a complete dick.
Time to pay more on your S2000 so you don't have to lose your butt on the resale bottoming out on them. :( Gotta sell mine to get the Elise. :(
Come on Guys, Just go order one.

By this time NEXT year you can change your order to include all the things you want. Then in spring '05 go driving.

In the mean time, drive what you have and enjoy it's last days in the sun.
