Folks,

Track Pack Shocks (adjustable, with remote reservoir). +- 3000 miles on it.

I'm not a suspension expert but need to understand something... I have this CLUNCK sound coming front the right front end of the car. I noticed that the adjustment wheels is loose and does not "click" between the softer positions (From 1 to 5... starts to click after). Seems to work fine in the stiffer positions but I hear this CLUNK a lot more.

I went to my dealer yesterday to find out. They told me the noise was related to the shock. They suggest I buy a new unit.

I'm still not 100% certain my CLUNK is coming from the shock though...

How can a shock do a sound like this?
Any ways to verify?
Any ways to fix a shock or get it rebuilt?

I'm about to order a new one but want to check my options first...

Thanks in advance!:)

I am not sure if a bad shock on the Elise/Exige could cause a clunk. On one car I had the shock bushing was bad so it was a $15 part to fix the clunk. (Different mount design)

If you can be without your car for a short while, get the shoock rebuilt. See post number 10:

Get the shock fixed since it doesn't work corectly already. If it doesn't fix the clunk at least the the clicks will work.
