The new Porsche GT3 is apparently prone to a bit of overheating. ;)

Last February, Porsche recalled 2,263 911 Carrera models for tailpipes that could crack and fall off the car. In December 2012, Porsche recalled 455 GT3 models from 2010 for wheel hubs that could fail. In March 2012, shortly after the current 911 debuted, Porsche had to recall 1,200 911 Carrera S models for a fuel line that could leak and cause fires.
Weird. From reading this forum, I thought buying a Porsche made one immune to such things.

Maybe the same supplier as Lotus for the oil lines on the Evora.

Aren't all Porsches disguised Lotuses?

Looks like a the Toyota powertrain is the way to go based on that photo. Haven't seen any flamed Evoras yet. A few lost clutch pedals, window issues (human error typically), buzz here, no sirius there, an occasional stall, but they essentially just run. Also investment is ~1/2 the cost of Porsche---> :facepalmhummm!

Oh, there are a few flamed Evora's around. MGF Martin had an engine fire, I was lucky that the engine was still cold when the oil line ruptured and poured oil on the exhaust. You'll find a few pictures on the web.

And, equally Lotus found the causes and has done 2 recalls for it.

It does seem to be a very common issue among our high-power mid-engined cars, doesn't it?

BTW The R8 V10 has also had similar problems.
