The Elises with two tailpipes on the sides of the back instead of the bottom middle is the slightly older model S2, which was never "available" in the US. It's easier to find pictures of Europian models, because they've been on the market for a few years. The US Elise has only been here for uhhh, 18 days?

Although, just because it has dual tailpipes at the bottom does not mean it is a US elise. The 111R has the tail pipes on the bottom.

By the way, Welcome to the forum.

More to the point, those with the two pipes on the side have an entirely different engine. The newer cars that we are getting have the Toyota motor. By all accounts, bringing its exhaust out at the same place as the old Rover's exhaust was deemed not practical.
