RaceChrono - The GPS Lap Timer

Hey Guys,

Charlie X posted this a while ago. Ive seen people talk about the Iphone lap timer, but nobody has mentioned this one.

It has all the basics:

To view and analyze your driven laps, open Lap times from the session view. This allows you to view lap, sector and split times, as well as minimum, maximum, corner and straight speeds. Also the optimal lap composed of this session’s best sectors is displayed at the top most item on the screen.

Then if you get an OBD II reader:

RaceChrono has experimental OBD-II feature from v0.95 onwards. The OBD-II reader can be used to monitor and save various OBD-II channels provided by the ECU of most vehicles. Channels that can be monitored include RPM, Speed, Throttle position etc. The OBD-II speed is particularly useful for performance testing, since it is more precise than the GPS speed which can be affected by weather and obstructions.

Info can be downloaded into google maps and excel.

Just wondering how easy it is to use.

FYI, it looks like the software is FREE.

Were installing it on my gf's phone tonight and heading to the track tomorrow.

I'll try to figure the new toy out and if it works, I'll post my laps so others can get a good laugh at my driving!
