Was wondering if anyone has experienced this problem and can help.
I have an 07 Elise, and my radiator cooling fans won't turn on, either with high temperatures in traffic (have seen 214F) or if I turn on the AC.

I have checked all the fuses and all the connectors.

I have removed and looked at my AC Control Module, it does not have any burned connectors as was experienced by a couple of other people. I have been able to jumper the power leads across the control module. The fans do work and the AC compressor relay does activate when I jumpered them.

When I push the AC button on and turn on the interior fan, the radiator fan is supposed to run at half speed. Nothing happens on my car.

I am reluctant to simply change the out the AC control module as it has 4 relays in it, and I doubt all 4 went bad at once.

The AC stopped blowing cold just this last week, so I may have a refrigerant pressure problem. But that wouldn't/shouldn't affect the radiator fans?

Anybody else have this problem? Any help appreciated. Thanks

Updates.....................
Couple of things.

First the problem was lack refrigerant in the AC system.
The low pressure switch would not allow the AC compressor to turn on, which in turn prevented the radiator fans from functioning at half speed.
Recharging the system restored the fan function.

Anyway, the refrigerant leaked out of one of the o-ring fittings on the compressor. My first advice to anyone is to check the fittings on the AC compressor. The refrigerant lines also contain compressor oil, this will manifest itself by a greasy appearance on the fittings. In other words, if the fitting is dirty, it is probably leaking. Checking the AC compressors on my Infiniti and Miata, the fittings are spotless! and the AC systems are fully charged and functioning well.

Perfect advise....

Compressor looks clean, but it is NASTY around the trianary...
+ no pressure on the low pressure side.

So I assume that freon leaked from trianary.

The fans come on at a very high temp. I almost never hear them running. Its for emissions. They say that if the engine is running hotter. It produces less emissions. I hate it myself. Charlie or any of the other ecu tuners can lower the fan switch point. Its in the ecu tune.
