I just installed my HID kit that I purchased from Chester on here, and I noticed when I turn on the headlights two of the radio stations are now pure static. This wouldn't be all that big of a deal, but they are my two favorite stations. Any ideas? I still have the factory radio installed as well.

I think HID headlights have a step up transformer in them which spew RF that would be my guess

That's what I was thinking but wasn't sure. I noticed while I was installing the HID Kit in both fender wells a wire which appreared to be my antenna. Any idea if changing the factory radio would correct this issue?

RFI suppression is a complex subject. There are two methods of solution, one at the source with filters etc. and another at the location where the problem manifests its self using shielding. Best to talk to the HID manufacturer.

Why would changing the radio change the location of the antenna? One can be changed without affecting the other.

I was trying to say if I replaced the factory head unit would that correct my problem.

some people have had good luck with a different antenna.
