Not dumb at all. It is commonly used on certain forums to indicate that the content you might be about to click on, it Not Work Safe. You will also see NSFW (Not Safe for Work). Or it could be labeled MATURE or ADULT... or "Here there be Jubblies"ElisED said:Dumb question of the day:
What is "NWS"?
i agree! It would seem that the size of your guns has to be proportional to the number of posters/members. What I mean is that it may get a little more difficult to control stuff if one person starts something and produces a snowball effect. One example, but didn't go far, were the semi-nude avatars. If you want to see a nude avatar that Randy would totally disagree with, check out Tony Yoshi's avatar onJames A said:Randy, stick to your guns, keep this forum Elise/car focused, no garbage. There are plenty of forums you can find junk on this is a terrific forum with a great focus.
Yup. Anything more and I would nip it in the bud.Surferjer said:Randy-great job, and I like where the line is. Also, thanks for allowing the breasts to do the wave in the thread Arrrrrrrrrrrrgghhhhhh. That was funny as hell, but also probably at the limit of what we should be able to see.
Randy Chase said:Exactly. Just think of me as an old prude and it will all be clear. My intent is that this is a work safe forum and I do not want it cluttered with NWS content, or the baggage that goes with that. We do have off topic and I welcome humor, the strange, any kind of thing we want... as long as it's not too sexual, displaying nudity, plastered with babe pics, gross or showing gruesome content. My other personal bias... I HATE gruesome content for the sake that it is gruesome and will not tolerate links to sites that exist for that reason.
It is not like it isn't hard to find that content on the internet. I don't see any reason it needs to be here.
I like pr0n as much as the next guy but do not want EliseTalk associated with it (or even any NWS stuff) and I want to be sensitive to the people that are not comfortable with it. If Reverend Smith buys an Elise to drive to sermons... more power to him. I hope he participates here. Of course, there is a line.. we can't go too far. Sometimes no matter what you do, some people will be offended. As to where to draw that thin line? I will make the call, and I have been known to ask the opinions of other moderators also to make sure I am not alone in how I feel.
Lastly, in regards to the argument that a separate forum, people don't have to click, etc.... I still don't want it. The purpose of EliseTalk is a community of enthusiasts. Anything that might stop someone from participating is a problem to me. I also don't want issues with our forum sponsors.
As we grow (and we will), certain things should happen. One, is that we need to people to get better at posting in the right forum. Moving to feedback forum
