I'm aware from my searches that getting into an accident with the front tow hook/ring installed can cause additional damage to the car's crash structure in an accident. Does anyone know if the same is true with a rear tow hook? I'm installing the Sector 111 boomerang for a track day, but would take it off again if I'm going to be at risk of additional damage if someone rear-ends the car. Thanks in advance for any help.

you shouldnt have any issues with the boomerang as it mounts onto steel frame and will bend far before anything else does in such a case.

By the time they hit the boomerang...you've got MUCH larger issues with damage. :(

Ive been in an Elise with a rear tow hook that backed into a tire wall at 20-30mph. The tow hook just bent to the ground. There are no worries running the rear hook all the time, it will bend way before anything else does.
