Just wanted to send a "shout out" to Smitty for hooking me up with the new Tillet B5 (CF) racing seat for my Elise. For those of you who don't remember, he originally posted a thread back on 11/26/08 http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f172/new-lotus-specific-carbon-fiber-seats-65200/ offering this seat in my opinion as an alternantive for those who like myself carry more than a 32" waist (me being more on the 34-35" side) and needed a little wider of a seat bottom. The factory seats, after driving for more than a half hour or so, would inflict severe discomfort due to the bucket being too narrow and the risers on the sides pinching my hip bones. There are a number of other seats i've tried out there on the market that did the same as well. Already being a big Tillett fan due to running them in my race karts it didn't take much to sell me on their product. The seat back wraps around your ribcage keeping you in place through the hardest cornering, it feels just like i'm nailing a 60mph corner in my kart! The install was pretty simple too as I chose to purchase the EB-2 brackets that mount right to the factory sliders which Smitty offers as one of the 3 options. So a great looking/functional light weight CF seat coupled with the Sector 111 V-Force harness Bar and Schroth PROFI II harness i'm ready to go! The purchase (pretty competitive pricing) and shipping went very smooth and I highly recommend this product. If I decide to switch out my passenger seat I will definitley be giving him a holler. Thanks again Smitty!!

That's very nice, but...
You're right. I meant to shoot the pics after my install but the day I did it it was pouring down rain and the lighting in my garage wouldn't of did the pics any justice. You can see pics of the seat from the attached thread link I included or I can post some maybe tomorrow if the weather cooperates and I can pull my car out the garage for some sunlight.

I just ordered a set of the Tillett B5 seats from Smitty, so I'm interested in seeing your set-up. I'm currently shopping for a harness bar and harness system and will probably also go with the Sector 111 solutions.

Fantastic. I have been on the fence about these. I can't wait to see them at H2R some day soon.

Wait... you live in southern California... it's not supposed to rain like that there!

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad that your impression mirrors mine regarding support. The seat has far more support than the stock seat and more than photos alone can convey.

I'm not sure the V-Force will work for you. I have the factory bar in my Exige and the seats fit perfectly, however I have a customer with a V-Force bar and he lost several clicks of rearward travel.

Trust me when I say that we've had our fair share of downpour over the past few weeks and though we are in need of it I have to say it's getting on my last nerve! I'm ready to drive!!!

You are correct Smitty...I did lose a few clicks on my slider after installing the V-Force behind the seats but it's not too bad. Legs are a lil more bent then before but now it seams that I have more steering control by sitting a lil closer to my wheel.

Sorry if I missed this in another post, but how do these work for skinny folks? I find the stock Exige seats too wide and not very supportive.

If not this one, is there another one that'd be better for that?
