I'll book my flight east in the next few days...
You may want to wait, it is my understanding that it is a Rover powered 5-speed 111S:( not one of the Toyota powered cars that we will get. Wait until April and drive one of the cars that are like what you will be buying.:)

It is the 111S
with the Rover engine and 5-speed.

111s is still worth a drive. It's no slouch.
Yes, I agree but jdl8r was talking about flying in from the west coast and it was not made clear that the demo car was not a Toyota powered Federal car. I was just trying to save him from some potential disappointment...:)

The only bad thing about the 111S is that all radio stations, all the time, only play 'God Save The Queen' .

I see. If I had'nt driven an Elise at this point of the game, I might jump on a flight if that were my only option to get a taste of the car. Still, the 111s is representative of what we'll be getting- up until about 6200 revs, so if I had the time and if no other cars were closer, I might still be tempted...

Stow away
in the wheel-wells of the plane and save
even more! But bring mittens. It gets a tad brisk there.

I originally from NH and fly back/forth from Boston to San Diego nearly regularly. It's about time for another visit... It may well be worth it to take a shot by Valenti and drive it.

Pisses me off even more that Symbolic here in La Jolla [2 miles from my place] had a 111s and still wouldn't let me take it for a spin. Pricks. All of em'. Now I have to fly 3000 miles from my place to get a spin in an Elise... Doesn't seem right - now does it?

California needs to learn 'New England
Hospitality'.

California needs to learn a lot of stuff... New England hospitality is an infinitely small piece of the knowledge lesson Cali is desperate for. Damn socialists! What do they do when the going gets tuff? They call on the Terminator!

I heard that the ex-president of Haiti, just recently
removed, is now looking at the possibility
of teaming up with Brian Wilson of The
Beach Boys and challenging 'Old Steroids
Incorporated' himself.

I drove the car when it was in NY

worth the flight I would say... you won't get a true feel of what our car is to be (for obvious reasons), but nonetheless, the experience has made this wait even more difficult for me.

AM Lotus Motorsports in Boston may get the 111S after Valenti. I drove it in August but would definitely take it out again. I honestly believe the Fed Elise will be very different even under 6200. It weighs quite a bit more, has a different suspension, and a totally new drivetrain. I'd do it just to compare the two.
