My 2005 OEM Elise driver's seat has developed a crack along the left side bolster, just above the seat belt mounting point. It's a through and through crack, about 8 inches long. The seat material appears to be fiberglass and epoxy? Has anyone attempted repairing cracked OEM seats? I am considering using epoxy resin and carbon fiber. Maybe a riveted sheet metal brace in addition.
Any recommendations/advice appreciated.

I made some changes to the seat shell before reupholstering my seats. They are fiberglass and you absolutely can repair them.

Nice job! Any tips if this is epoxy or Polyester resin based? What did you use to gain strength in the joints of the newly added sections?
