In defense.... only posts made to this specific subforum are fed to the front page as NEWS. So it can make total sense to have a thread in the general forum, and then create one here. I might suggest that if this is the total intent, perhaps we should make it so that replies are not allowed in this sub forum. Just a thought.

That would not show up on the front page as an article.

Many regular users never visit the main page, coming directly to the forums. The software is set up to deliver the first post in any thread from this subforum to the front page. Check it out-

Then you get a clean news feed which is more designed for the new person, not forum regular.
