After reading so many articles about the Elise it amazed me how this review of three came up with such a mediocre opinion. Yet, they recognized it as significant enough to place in their column. I noticed that the 2005 Consumer Reports car issue did not list the Elise at all.

Not surprised that Consumer Reports took a "pass" on reviewing Elise. I think most of their reader base would just shake their heads at a car like this, as Chris says, many of their readers would not "get it" at all.

I still remember "back in the days" when the X1/9 first came out. Consumer Reports gave it their worst rating for it's unsafe and unpredictable handling - guess they didn't understand mid-engine cars...
