All of your stories frighten me, so I was thinking of getting a roll cage in my Elise. I was wondering if you guys have any pictures of your roll cages, detailing where they go in the car. I am quite tall and am concerned with head clearance in the car. Reverie buckets with no pads and my head almost brushes the roof(that is the cloth roof). So I can't have the bar right by my head. Any advice and pictures are appreciated.

Well, I took my SobeLotus to an excellent roll call builder here in Miami, and when we went over the dimension, disassembly, and aftermath, I had a reality check. A roll cage is the most safest protection you can have in your Lotus hands down. But, once you install it your Lotus it will be forever changed. The entry and exit is even more difficult. Most important if you do crash and the car is on fire, you WILL NOT be able to exit with a helmet on and the door closed. We all take risks. It comes with racing. It is what it is. Doesn't stop me, but it does freak me out. Your Lotus will then also be a track dedicated only car. The resale and pleasure drives with hot woman next to you is over. There are more points but I will allow others to put in their two cents. Bottom Line: Do it if it will only be track car and you have money. If not, then save your money and drive it like you stole it.
