I replaced the stock shift mechanism on my '05 with a Inokinetic ShiftR111 and am happy with it, but another alternative is to use the later Lotus mechanism, pn C138F0059F. This looks like a much more robust base than the stock system with a big cast part. The assembly, shipped, looks like it's only about $1k plus the hand brake ect is about $1.5k. Has anyone tried it?

That's what I wanted for my 08 SC.
I went the easier route and got a shiftr111 installed. I regret my decision.
