Poker Run!

This weekend our Associate British Car Club, the Alamo MG Assocation, is hosting a Poker Run and we're all invited!

What's a Poker Run, you ask? It's a navigation-based rally which deals a playing card at each waypoint, the winner being the car to finish with the best poker hand. Great food, fun, and madcap antics are sure to follow.

When: 9.30 AM Saturday Morning
10.00 AM First Departure
Where: San Antonio Credit Union
1717 North Loop 1604 East
Highway 281 and Loop 1604

This is a fantastic opportunity to run with our fellow British car enthusiasts from the local Austin-Healey, Jaguar, MG, and Triumph communities. The entry fee is five dollars per car, with the winner taking home half the pot.

Let's show everyone what an enthusiastic turn-out our Lotus community can muster!

The New Lotus Evora.

Saturday evening we're afforded a rare viewing of the new Lotus Evora, set to debut next year in North America. Two development cars will be passing through Austin enroute to further road test facilities, and our own Associate Director can attest that they're gorgeous in-the-metal.

We'll gather here in San Antonio Saturday afternoon for refreshments, and then caravan north through the Hill Country to enjoy a hands-on preview at the new Lotus of Austin showroom.

When: 3.00 PM Saturday Afternoon
4.00 PM Caravan Departs
Where: The Lion and Rose Pub
700 East Sonterra Boulevard #318
Stone Oak, San Antonio

These cars won't be seen again before 2010 - don't miss it!

...no idea at all, really - this is a very last-minute announcement at a very unusual time on a very busy weekend in the full heat of summer...

So there's the Poker Run on Saturday, then off to Austin to see the Evora, then on Sunday morning a drive?
