I'm sure this is probably a repost, but I'm too lazy to search.

Now you can have a see-thru Targa top for your Elise/Exige...

I am in the process of designing this type of hard top. But it is not easy, and there is a reason they ask so much... Do you know hoe much a mold for that is.... Over $15,000.

In the spirit of freeware here is an inexpensive see-through top for your Elige:

One roll of Saran Wrap $3.00

One roll of duct tape, color coded to your Elige $4.00

Keep in trunk and renew when necessary.

Lawyer's Disclaimer: Do not tape Elige see-through top to your head as it may result in death.

Your Welcome!

At one point, I was VERY interested in this.

I think it would really help with the claustrophobia feeling, but after further review:

- I don't own a hardtop.
- I usually have the top off
- On super hot days, I use the Taylor Mesh Top.

So, this would really be for those months where its too cold for top off - for example, no snow March/April and November.

Really can't justify $4K for a top that will get used maybe 15 driving days a year.

And I reached out the guy (Mr Fiat) - he was less than engaging. I can't imagine ANY person spending $4K on a top for our cars. That's a damn supercharger! ESPECIALLY sight unseen. Tops leak. The aftermarket 'gullwing' top had major quality issues. I could never part with this kind of money without assurances of the quality.

How to make one from scratch.

1. Stripe out all the cloth or whatever soft material from the OEM top. Easy
2. 3D scan it. Trouble
- Trouble is can't find any 3D scan in Hong Kong nor China yet :(
3. Mod it to Cad file with what ever you need to mod. Easy
- CF factory are able to do it.
4. Send file for 3D ABS modeling. Easy
- CF factory are able to do it.
5. Make the frame and fitment in CF. Easy
6. Make the top part in Polycarbonate. Haven't found yet.
7. Put them together. That's it.

Haha you make it sound so simple.. But it is not unfortunately... The top part is what is the killer... You would either need it heat molded, or injection molded, and the first is very hard to do, and the latter is very expensive...
