Selling new Elise - you choose options

1657 Views 18 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  scotto
I reserved a spot over a year for an Elise, and I'm ~#35 on the next shipment about to come in. As much as I want the car, I can't afford it at this point. Want it? My spot is non-transferrable, but I can buy the car and immediately sell it. Downside is that you'd have to pay sales tax twice (unless you live in a state without sales tax). But you get your own new Elise, with your chosen options, before xmas. Anyone interested? My dealer wants my option/color choices asap, so the car can get here on time.

I posted an ebay ad, but all my bids were bogus. If anyone is seriously interested, contact me asap. I can provide you with a copy of the invoice proving the date of my deposit, a written contract, etc.

Ebay Item number: 2487955028

Thanks!

rubber side down,

Do you realize that you came to a forum where you'll find the most informed people about the car?

#35 is probably Feb 05 if you are lucky. BTW save an extra $1K that how much more it will cost you to do what you want to do.
:crazyeyes Doh!
Who is your dealer?

The car dealership is located in Southern California. If the winning bidder is in California, or would like to pick it up (what better place to be in the dead of winter than Southern California?!):
That only tells me Symbolic, Newport, Desert, or Galpin.

he claims to have had the deposit down for over a year, so that removes Galpin from the list...and perhaps Desert?

Expected Delivery

According to my dealer, the car "should be in by December, at the latest". Of course, I have no control over Lotus's production & delivery schedule. Unless there's a major holdup, it will definitely be in by Feb 05.

Of course, as you're all experts, you know more it than my dealer (who will remain anonamous until I find a serious buyer, as he doesn't want his phone ringing off the hook today).

If anyone is SERIOUS, please let me know.

:) I thought that was only was a reference to when the car was coming.
So what are you looking for? Someone to simply take over your spot in line? 1000 over invoice? 5000?

Nevermind - just looked up your ebay ad...
I usually don't care if someone actually buys the car and tries to flip it.

But today is definetly not a good day to do it after the MSRP increase news. and lying about delivery before xmas when by his own words his dealer told him Feb 05 as guessed. And that's an optimistic date.

Specially in CA where it affects you guys.

Man, am I bitter today!!!
No, no, no. Read the posts. I said originally before xmas, which is what the dealer told me.

That Feb 5 date came from someone else. Note that xmas is the end of December, 2 months BEFORE February.

Again, the dealer has said December, at the latest.

Elise Spot

Hi Rubbersidedown,

I am seriously interested in your spot. Please contact me at [email protected].

I am new to this forum. It is apparent that there is a lot of misplaced and frustrated attitude. Lighten up folks and allow the free market its play.
