Currently there is a iOS app that allows you to have the Seloc Tech Wiki in your pocket in an offline fashion with niceties of search and favoriting.

Since I have been thinking about jumping the iOS ship over to android this would be an app I would definitely miss. So I thought I might build an android app for it.

I originally started a thread on the seloc website to gauge interest (SELOC Forums)

I know have an app that is in "beta" status and we wondering if there is anybody here that might be interested in testing the android app. Since the more eyes I have on it to help me find issues the better it will be. :D

I forgot to warn everyone here that I do know that some of the pages are missing images and have some raw html showing. Par for the course for a beta. If you could please send me any pages you come across, it will help me fix them quicker.

Fantastic so far!

one thing I noticed, if I am in an article and rotate the phone 90 degrees to get the screen to flip sideways then it bombs out to the main page and then if I try exit it first tries to close the article I was on and the drop down menu before exiting even though I am still seeing the main screen, those two just flash in the background. If you open more articles and and rotate again it appears to compound the issue. But that is something I can easily live with.

Thanks for giving it a shot. As far as the rotation issue I can either look into it or would it be terrible to was always be in Portrait mode and did not allow Landscape or is there a need for Landscape mode?

Awesome, thanks for working on this!

I'm getting the same portrait/landscape issue. Landscape mode would be useful when viewing the photos.

I have fixed some of the reported issues with the app and the newest version can be found here, the old version has been disabled so it wont be able to be download anymore.

https://s3.amazonaws.com/seloc/seloc-v2-signed.apk

Issues fixed include :
Rotation bug resetting page you were on
Voice search crashes the app
Icons in navigation menu to help usability
Add ability to install to SD card

Please continue testing and let me know what you find. Thanks to all that have tested so far.

Nexus 4 here, if I can help, let me know
Please test it out and let me know what you think or if you find any issues. I would love to have it tested by as many people/devices that are possible before I push it out for real.

Thanks for all that have tested it out.

I believe I have fixed most rendering issues (images not showing on some pages, pre tags making the page scroll horizontally and html tags showing up in the content). The app should be ready for deployment to the play store here shortly, once I get this expansion files thing figured out....didn't realize I needed it until I tried to deploy it :-/ . Once live on the play store I will post a link here to it.

Also I have open sourced all the code used to parse the Tech Wiki and the android app. Links can be found below.

So when I said that it would be shortly it really meant it would be almost a week :-/ Apparently expansion files in android require a lot more work than I would have expected.

O well, I have finally pushed it to the google play store and it can be downloaded here. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.seloc.techwiki

I have also created a page on the wiki that has links to both ios and android apps. Mobile Apps - TechWiki

I plan on still trying to add some more features like widgets, most recent viewed and better searching (since right now it is only based on the name of the article). Those are just a few. If anyone has anymore they would like to see please let
me know.

As I add features I will release beta builds. If you would like to get in on helping out test those. You can
go to the following google + community and join. https://plus.google.com/communities/104383199410398815326
Once you have joined you can hit the following link to download the beta build. https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.seloc.techwiki

Again I would like to thank all that have tested so far.
