My parents are taking the kids for the weekend.:nanner: So I am looking for a short day trip that involves the wife and Lotus, but focused more on the wife. Our usual trips are Julian/Palomar, Laguna, both Old Town San Diego and Temecula, Rodeo just to window shop and Big Bear. We live in Corona and would like to keep it under eight hours.

Santa Monica Mountains are always fun and plenty of kitschy restaurants along PCH; If willing to venture further, try Santa Barbara or even Ojai. There are nice twisty roads around those areas as well.

243 into Idylwile or however you spell it then over to palm springs or 74 to palm desert, there's a nice twisty stretch on 243 down to the 10. Or glendora mountain rd. (which more then a few of us consider a bit more interesting then the Santa Monica stuff, no homes no cross streets, beautiful views. Then go to Old town Pasadena about 10 miles from Glendora

I'm a little late on this one but 243 is nicer for the wife but GMR is more fun for the Lotus, maybe next time you unload the kids you can check it out

You might not make it in 8 hours, but if you get a chance to head up to nipomo, try Jocko's steakhouse. You won't be sorry
