Is this an aftermarket soft top? I pulled this off a site in Japan, and the cover goes all the way back over the roll hoop. I thought the S1 was the only version to have this, but I sure like the look better than the S2 tops I have seen. I have heard that we are going back to the "older" style top, could this be it? I'm not positive, but I think that that is an S1 style top on an early S2. I've seen it discussed here before. I believe that the 2005 Elise will have the shorter top which is said to leak less and to be a bit easier to remove/install.

My understanding is that the new style top (without the ears) is what we are getting. Impirically it seems that the new style would be easier to take off and put on, ala 911 targa tops pre glass roof. Furthermore, it should fit in the stowage area neater.
