Are people ****in blind or what? How the **** do you hit a parked car? This time it's not as bad. It looks like it was just the starshield. Either way I'm extremely pissed and if I only saw who did it I'd strangle them in broad daylight. Completely unacceptable. California has the most retarded drivers on the face of the planet.

I don't even know if I'm gonna call my insurance or just try buffing it out myself. I'm sure most of it will come off with polish. FFS shoot me now.

I feel for you brother. Got a shiny new company van and within three weeks it was sideswiped when parked, bumper dented in when parked, headlight broke when parked.

You can't win. Accept it or just leave it in the garage. I for one would never do a tap and run - would always leave a note. Lowlifes do that.

I always have my ChaseCam recording when my car is moving or parked in public... of course, that probably wouldn't have helped at all in this case.

I'm sorry to see what happend to your car, but looking at the picture, it looks like your Starshield may have saved the clam from damage.

If it makes you feel any better, a guy fell onto the roof of my first car a few days after I bought it, and my second, brand new car got T-boned so hard in my work parking lot that it got pushed half a spot over. People are asses.

I had that happen to my Scion xA within the first year or ownership. I came out of the gym and thought it was from all of the salt and snow... nope. Cost $500 to get the entire bumper repainted. It was a nasty scratch.

Some people are just ridiculous... I feel your pain on this one.

GRR! I really feel for you. What really gets me is I've been "bumped" twice now as well, and I always park as far from civilization as I possibly can to avoid the lazy morons that park by brail, yet I keep walking back to my car and find it surrounded by minivans and trucks. I understand when other sports car owners park by me - I do that too, it's sort of a mutual "I know that guy won't ding me with a door" mentality - but what's with the soccer moms that just decide to park 1/2 mile on the far side of the lot and drive into a car that obviously is there to be alone, and let their kids fling the doors into my car? I caught one such lady (I was still in the car when she did this) but fortunately there was no visible mark, though I bet the kid got a good scolding at least.

I've been looking at adding a dual camera Chasecam setup for a sort of security-after-the-fact measure. Does anyone that has one know if it has a feature to record when bumped or at x decibels sound for x time period when parked, and "sleep" on a low power mode when not on? It seems like the G meter only works when you are powered on and driving and the camera either shuts off with ignition or stays on forever, so it's sort of a record all of the time or not situation, and I don't want to jump start the battery every time I want to drive somewhere.

Tons of unlicensed drivers in CA. In 5 years my wife has been hit every year. Only one of them had insurance, one of them tried to flee the scene and she had to chase them down, and 2 of them weren't even legal in to be in the US. Insurance company goes after them and they just move. My Nissan had the rear fender torn up pretty good by a big van. Some people who were hanging out in the parking lot described the vehicle for me but unfortunately didn't think to get the plate. I can't wait to get the heck out of San Jose! Thank goodness no parking lot craziness with the Elise.

Big pet peeve of mine and I really feel for you. Where the hell did all these guys come from where they don't know if you damage someone's property you make good. [email protected]#[email protected]$#!

I was rear ended twice last year. Fortunately, the second driver hit me before the damage was fixed from the first accident. 3 weeks apart.

It took 11 weeks to get the car fixed!

I saw a Vet the other day where the owner parked way off in the distance in a parking lot and then put orange cones around his car!! He/she must carry the cones around in the trunk. Obviously he had been dinged one too many times.
