I was having a problem with oil spitting out of the dipstick tube when ever I would get into high boost. I only had an "open" crankcase vent in which the catch can was venting to atmosphere. And even then it was not a large line...only like a 3/8" line, not like a 3/4" or 1" like some people have on open vent systems.
I decided to reroute the catch can so that now it plugs into the throttle body. So it gets a pretty good source of vacuum, especially at idle. But I noticed that when I turned off the engine there is now a sound like water draining down a tube.
I turned off the engine and immediately put my head in the engine bay and it is not coming from the coolant over flow reservoir. I did some searching on the google and most people attribute that sound (on other cars) to the sound of oil draining back into the oil pan.
I have never heard this sound before the day I applied vacuum to the crankcase. Is this normal?
