that is not the baybottom crawl is it, there is an event like that in the keys, that is so cool, watch out for mangroves. Got the racing bug, Listen porche club has a track event at moroso may first week, u should have enough experiecne by then, it is the cheapest , with instructor, for like 200 bucks, u need to get out there and drive slow and easy, it is a whole lot diff then autox, and if u are attentive and calm very safe. go to pca.org. goldcoast region. Nasa will have some events announced soon, but for new guy with instructors it is like 290$. SO the PCA is a good deal.

Mitch ps I have been seeing your jl stuff all over, company is rockin.
I like the jl marine commercials.

CFR is sponsoring a Solo Trials at Gainesville March 4/5. Two days of fun for $ 70.00. The only problem is Convertibles are not allowed, but if you have another ride check out the cfrsolo2.com website for more info.

The NT at Ft Myers only has 1 Elise (Malcolms) entered and it saddens me that Florida can't do better than that. :wallbang:

Thanks for the info. I had a raised eyebrow after reading your "one lap around Moroso" description.
135mph at the end of straight away. Definitely got me thinking.
I'm not worried about remaining calm and in control, I just worry about the other guy running into me.

I hadn't watched the Marine commercial, I checked it out today.
I did meet the waveboarding girl (Maeghan Major) when she toured our facility. Definitely
athletic and cute (if that's okay to say)

The Marine stuff is huge. Nobody makes anything close in quality.

Fort Meyers Autocross Event

Fort Meyers Autocross Event
2006 FLORIDA SPECIAL TOUR

On February 11 & 12 we will once again have our Florida Special Tour event which will feature 2 days of competition. Best run from each day will be added together to give your final time. Can’t make it both days? Sunday February 12 will be scored as a separate points day, although you will not qualify for special tour awards.

This will be a great warm up event for the SCCA National Tour the following weekend, we might even get some out of state drivers to show up for this event. Sorry, we won’t be running the National Tour course this weekend, but it will be our usual full length course.

nasa moroso hpde March 4-5

nasa event on March 4-5, 1-4 novice drivers with instructors both days,
get your lotus on the track for some real fun. SA-2000 helmet, new brakefluid (brakes that work), tires with some tread left or race tires, or street tire. Tires that pass tech.

pca.org gold coast region, porsche club, good events at the hockey arena parking lot in west broward, Steve Kidd runs them he is a great guy, drives a GT2, they have several events a year, not in heialeah or what ever that place is. Lots of cool cars smaller turnout then the scca-equipe rapide group, but good courses and very competitive.

Jim,

Do you know of any other autocrosses in SoFla besides Equipe Rapide?

Not really. Mitch mentioned the Porsche Club. They accept a few non Porsche cars when they run, nice group.

The 3 or 4 clubs mentioned in this thread run about once a month each.

your right blkgt3, steve has a gt 3, I alway get the 2 and the 3 backwards, it should be the non turbo is the 2 and the turbo is the 3, I guess it has something to do with racing classes. Anyway, I like the pca group, mike hansen is a friend and steve is doing a good job with the autox events.

Actually the GT2 is a twin turbo producing 462 bhp while the GT3 is NA and pushes out 380 bhp.
